With a great passion …… Aquatic Nurseries commenced operations in 1996, with a great commitment and expertise of a team with the leadership of Sathyendra Wijayapura, now is in the forefront of the aquarium fish export industry in Sri Lanka, being one of the largest and leading ornamental fish and aquatic plant exporters from the pearl of the Indian Ocean. Aquatic Nurseries has been consistent of being the Sri Lanka's leading exporter of quality ethically-sourced marine livestock , offering an unparalleled range of marine fish and invertebrates from one of the largest and most sophisticated aquarium-based holding facilities in Sri Lanka. The collection at Aquatic Nurseries includes varieties of fish found in the deep blue waters of the tropical Indian Ocean, the warm riverine estuaries, inland mudponds, well established fresh water farms as well as a range of colourful Marines, Shrimps and Invertebrates found in the tropical ocean surrounded by the rich coral reefs. Species collected from Maldives,Red Sea and India are also available. Today Aquatic Nurseries is the main and a loyal supplier of Fish & Invertebrates to world's most popular and the largest importers and Public Aquariums.

Aquatic Nurseries is equipped with the most modern, state of the art filtration and quarantine system installed at our main aquarium withholding facility situated just closer to the international airport, which ensures stress free excellent quality specimens to the customers. The packing centre is located close to the seacost city Negombo, just 10 minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) thus facilitates the minimum arrival time to the destination once the fish are packed. A special packing system is used to minimize freight costs and ensure excellent arrival of quality stock.
